The Wedding Ring

One of my girlfriends Dawn just got married to an awesome man, Philip and she asked me to make her wedding ring. The cool thing about Dawn is that she is super chill and definitely not a bridezilla. She gave me almost complete creative control. Her only requests were that she wanted some heriloom earrings from her Grandmother incorporated into the design and she wanted a blue center stone that was sustainably sourced.

The earrings were little diamonds with "jackets" consisting of 3 golden leaves. I cut the leaves up into single pieces and began laying out different designs.

Here is the finished ring alongside her engagement ring which is a lovely chunky simple gold band. You see I used 2 of the leaves, the 2 diamonds and a gorgeous blue sapphire.

I also made her wedding necklace with 3 of the other leaves and another blue sapphire. She loved them both- Phew! I think there may be more pressure when you have complete artistic control?

Charmed Ring



If you are in the Bellingham Washington area this coming weekend, come meet me! I'm doing a trunk show at Covet Boutique at 1311 11th St. in historic Fairhaven in Bellingham Washington. I am unveiling the new collections and will of course have many of my most popular pieces on hand as well. This is a great way to see how the lines work with one another.

A Frog in My Jewelry Box

My apple necklace got chosen to be in a great treasury on Etsy! Animalenvoy put together this beauty. I love the color palette on this treasury, blues with little shots of reds and oranges. Yummy! I notice animalenvoy is coincedentally from Boulder- small world huh?

Amy Esther ceramic beads

Amy Esther is a very cool pottery artist who I've featured before. She has a new ETSY shop called AE (Amy Esther) Bead Boutique where she is selling handmade ceramic beads. I especially like these two, chocolate waffle or lemon anyone?

Good-bad-Divine

Brandy Shaloo writes a very cutting edge blog at Good-Bad-Divine.blogspot and it really is all three of those (bad as in bad-ass of course). I just love the black background and skull icons, and the way she groups lots of thumbnail pictures together just make you want to keep looking. She has a great sense of fashion and art and her writings reflect that. She is in Germany and it's cool how some of the words are in German and some in English...very intriguing and oh so international!

The Good and The Bag

Blogs and websites are so interesting to me...I love how some scream high fashion, some are edgy, some are pretty or funky or sweet. They remind me of bedrooms. I always envision each site to be a general representation of it's creators' bedroom. Am I just strange? Oh well, at any rate, Dana at Thegoodandthebag.com must have a lovely, elegant and very sophisticated bedroom, because that is exactly how it feels over at her website. She "loves the charming things in life" and frankly, that says it all. She chooses some of the most delectable stuff to feature in tons of categories (niceties, books, jewelry etc.) It's a great place to find gifts for people that you may otherwise never have found. She featured my Sweetheart Necklace (that necklace has been hard at work these past few months) Thank you Dana!!

Style Eyes Interview

Ceri Heathcote has a lovely little corner of the web called Style Eyes Fashion Blog. It's filled with all sorts of musings on fashion, jewelry, sustainable style and more. There are lots of pretty pictures to look at too, which is one of my favorite reasons for reading blogs of course. She is all the way over in the UK and I always find it fascinating to hear the points of view of women from all over the world. I'm flattered that she likes my jewels too!
